About the role
The person for this role is responsible for pan India locations to provide comprehensive support in implementing safety requirements, prioritizing initiatives, and conducting safety training. Oversee safety compliance, risk assessments, audits, and incident evaluations while ensuring regulatory adherence and implementing effective health and safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to line management for implementation of Safety requirements and prioritise
- Safety initiatives for successful delivery and knowledge on disposal of hazardous waste
- Provide training on safety, health and environment including firefighting, work permit, on site emergency
- Able to handle contract workmen and provide induction on safety and health environments
- Conduct Safety committee meetings and mock drills
- Identify key safety risks in the operations, and carry out risk assessments for the activities
- Visit sites to conduct safety audits on personnel, equipment and materials
- Analyse accident reports and evaluate injury case studies based on available facts
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards
- Track incident metrics and apply findings
- Lead injury, incident inquiries and evaluations
- Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks
- Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections
- Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company
- Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics
- Monitors compliance with safety procedures
- Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings
- Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required
Candidate requirements
Experience: 15+ years
Skills required: Knowledge of safety standards,
Education qualification: Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in environmental health and safety)
