About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to manage our electric vehicle (3W/4W) fleet supporting multi-client 3PL logistics operations. This role requires balancing the delivery SLAs of multiple clients, managing shared/dedicated fleet allocation, and ensuring EV uptime, battery health, and cost efficiency across a diverse operational footprint (multiple hubs, clients, and delivery zones).
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet & Client Operations
- Manage day-to-day EV fleet (3W/4W) operations across multiple client accounts and delivery hubs
- Allocate vehicles across clients based on volume forecasts, SLAs, and priority contracts
- Ensure fleet capacity planning aligns with client-specific delivery commitments (TAT, SLA adherence)
- Coordinate with client operations/account managers on volume fluctuations, peak season scaling, and route changes
- Track and report client-wise fleet utilization, cost-per-delivery, and SLA compliance metrics
EV & Charging Management
- Monitor real-time fleet data (battery %, range, location) via telematics/IoT across hubs
- Manage battery health, charge cycles, and swap/replacement schedules
- Plan charging infrastructure and schedules across multiple hub locations to avoid delivery disruptions
- Coordinate with battery-swap/charging infrastructure vendors across the network
Compliance & Vendor Management
- Ensure RTO compliance, EV subsidy documentation (FAME/state schemes), permits, and insurance across all vehicles
- Manage 3PL-specific vendor contracts — vehicle leasing partners, OEMs, charging/battery-swap providers
- Negotiate rate contracts for vehicle procurement/leasing scalable across multiple client accounts
People & Cost Management
- Recruit, train, and supervise EV drivers/gig delivery partners across hubs
- Manage fleet operating budget — charging costs, leasing, AMC, insurance — with client-wise cost allocation
- Drive cost-per-km and cost-per-delivery optimization across the shared fleet model
- Implement performance dashboards for driver productivity and vehicle utilization by client/hub
Cross-functional Coordination
- Work closely with warehouse/hub operations, dispatch, and client servicing teams
- Support new client onboarding by scoping fleet requirements and EV feasibility for their delivery zones
- Evaluate fleet management software with multi-client, multi-hub reporting capability
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field
- 6+ years in fleet management within a 3PL/logistics service provider environment (not captive fleet only)
- Experience managing multi-client, multi-hub fleet operations with varying SLAs
- Working knowledge of EV technology (battery types, charging/swapping models) for 3W/4W commercial vehicles
- Familiarity with 3W/4W EV OEMs and leasing/battery-swap providers (e.g., Mahindra, Piaggio, Euler Motors, EKA Mobility, Sun Mobility, Battery Smart — adjust to region)
- Experience with fleet/telematics platforms supporting multi-entity, client-wise reporting
- Strong client-facing communication skills — comfortable presenting fleet performance to client stakeholders
- Understanding of 3PL commercial models (cost-plus, per-delivery pricing) as it relates to fleet cost allocation
- Proficiency in Excel/BI tools; ERP/WMS integration exposure a plus
Key Competencies
- Multi-stakeholder management (internal ops + external clients + vendors)
- Scalability mindset — managing fleet flex-up/down for seasonal/client demand spikes
- EV-specific problem solving (range, charging logistics) at a multi-hub scale
- Cost transparency and client-wise P&L thinking
- Crisis management across a distributed, shared fleet
Preferred (Good to Have)
- Prior experience in e-commerce/quick-commerce last-mile 3PL operations
- Experience transitioning a 3PL client fleet from ICE to EV
- Exposure to gig-driver/partner-model fleet operations (as opposed to owned-driver model)
- Certification in Fleet Management or EV/Battery systems
